Women are less fulfilled than men

The 2016 edition of the Edenred-Ipsos Barometer shows there are few differences between women and men when it comes to their perceptions of well-being at work. All countries combined, 71% of the employees interviewed are positive about their well-being at work.

For all of the survey's items, women are less positive than men, in particular regarding emotional dimensions (work enjoyment, confidence, stimulating environment, etc.).

Are female managers happier at work?

Within the panel of women, managers are more positive about several items.

For emotional aspects for example, 87% think they have an interesting job, 75% enjoy coming to work in the morning, 75% feel confident about their professional future in their company, and 74% consider they work in a stimulating environment.

This satisfaction is also felt for items related to employer appreciation: 81% of female managers feel respected by their management and 73% consider their management pays attention to their skills and training needs.

Their main HR expectations?

Thirty-six percent of women consider that the HR actions taken in favor of skills development, for which they have high expectations, are inadequate. The second action deemed inadequate by 30% of women is the development of a digital culture.

Lastly, flexibility in the organization of working hours and health at work are some of the HR policies that most impact well-being at work, and women have high expectations in these areas.
