“Giving ourselves the means to achieve our ambitions”
In early January, Emmanuel Le Roch and Edenred kicked off the construction of a new Mach40.4, whose design was entrusted to shipbuilder JPS Production in La Trinité-sur-Mer. The latest sailboat to be based on the Manuard design, after the Banque du Léman, E. Leclerc Ville La Grand and Redman, the Edenred Class40 will be launched in late April.
“We’re proud to continue this wonderful journey we began with Emmanuel in 2018. The construction of the new Class40 is another step forward in our partnership. We’re keeping the project at a human scale while adding a more competitive component with performance objectives. We’re giving ourselves the means to achieve our ambitions and raise the Edenred colors even higher,” said Bertrand Dumazy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Edenred.
The Transat Jacques Vabre and the Route du Rhum in sight
After achieving an honorable 12th place in the 2019 Transat Jacques Vabre on a previous-generation boat, Emmanuel Le Roch proved that he was a force to be reckoned with. In addition to being an experienced sailor, he is also a fierce competitor. Entering the 2021 Transat Jacques Vabre and the 2022 Route du Rhum, with a high-performance boat, will be a new challenge for Le Roch. “Having a new boat built is a dream come true. It’s a passion project that we’ve been working on together with Edenred and also with Basile, who’s been following progress closely. We’ve built strong ties with Edenred and I am honored that they have placed their trust in me once again. As a competitor, it’s an amazing opportunity to be at the forefront and represent Edenred in a new boat,” said the La Trinité-sur-Mer-based skipper.
By reaffirming its determination to becoming a key player in the Class40 and Mini 6.50 circuits through Emmanuel and Basile, the Edenred Group is sending a strong message on its commitment to sailing. “People need to dream and come together around inspiring stories. As we recently saw once again with the Vendée Globe, ocean racing is undoubtedly one of the most incredible adventures possible on a human level,” said Bertrand Dumazy.
