Edenred's unique solution for healthy eating, NutriSavings™, claims award

The program to promote healthy eating habits amongst employees, launched in 2013 in the United States, was recently rewarded.

Edenred United States received the CIO Impact Award for the launch of its NutriSavings™ solution. Awarded by Frost & Sullivan, a consultancy bureau in growth strategies, this prize rewards the deployment of innovative strategies and business models in the service of employee well-being.

NutriSavings™ was launched to address the needs of American companies that want to cut the costs of employee healthcare that they have to pay. Mainly related to obesity, these costs can amount to an average of $850 per person and per month. When they join the program, the beneficiary employees set a target together with their employer to improve their eating habits.

The employer then offers rewards according to the nutritional quality of their basket or reductions on healthy foodstuffs. The discounts on offer for foodstuffs can amount to as much as $400 per year. An online platform that can be accessed from a PC or a smartphone has been developed by NutriSavings™ to help the employees track, analyze and improve their everyday eating habits.

Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare and United Healthcare were the first insurance companies to be convinced by this solution. The entirely digital program enables Edenred to collect and analyze data on the members' eating habits and, as a consequence, to build a genuine public health program in the United States.
