Over €8 billion worth of food was thrown away across the country. Only 30% of the population used doggy bags.

Edenred's Italian subsidiary decided to support the project of the Cena dell'Amicizia (Friendship Dinner) charity entitled "Il Buono che Avanza" (Repurposing food), the first network of restaurants that helps reduce food waste by encouraging customers to use doggy bags. This social use is still relatively uncommon in Italy
Edenred will supply over 150,000 affiliated merchants and its employees with doggy bags.
