Edenred employees engaged in stop wasting for Earth Day 2014

April 22 2014, the Group's employees rallied for an international day dedicated to preserving the environment with a special focus on waste reduction.

Every year, Edenred organizes a day dedicated to preserving the environment in honor of Earth Day, which takes place on April 22.
For the fourth edition, 25 subsidiaries were involved in waste-reducing actions.  The Group's employees learned how to consume more responsibly and stop wasting.

Nearly 3,000 employees were involved in local initiatives, which had three keywords:

Recycle: In Poland, employees traded old devices to be recycled, such as inoperative computers and refrigerators, for plants in order to create a hanging garden to decorate their work premises.

Reuse: Edenred USA organized an office swap: employees traded and gave away supplies for a "spring cleaning" of their offices to avoid throwing stuffs away.

Reduce: 5 subsidiaries focused on food waste. In Brazil, jars of jam were made from fruit peelings and given to each employee to illustrate a good practice in reducing food waste.

Other initiatives were undertaken to preserve the environment. For example, trees were planted in Romania and forests were cleaned up in Slovakia, in Czech Republic and in Bulgaria.

Edenred Bulgaria thus took part in an initiative to enhance urban vegetation by planting some sixty trees with employee volunteers from two other local companies.

Edenred strives to promote eco-practices aimed at reducing its environmental impact all year long thanks to Ideal green, one of the three programs of the Group's Corporate Social Responsibility approach.
