Edenred is developing corporate sponsorship initiatives by forming long-term partnerships to support actions in favour of the public interest. Employees who become involved locally and represent the company’s values are the keystone of this solidarity. Through donations of equipment to associations, technical and logistical support, and social bonding measures, employees are increasing the number of local solidarity projects.
These projects have been decentralized and are essentially local initiatives, adapted to the needs of local communities, such as: supporting the NGO “Un techo para mi Pais” in Mexico, where the aim is to build houses for disadvantaged families in Latin America, supporting the “Samtoul association in Satu Mare”, Romania, which looks after homeless children, and offering voluntary work to support the famous “Perkins School” for the blind people in Boston.
Since 2006 an international day has been organized all around the world asking employees to join forces and support local communities: it is known as the Day of Solidarity. On this day, traditionally held in December, employees organise a "Fund-raising event" to meet the needs of a local solidarity organisation chosen in advance. In 2009, 21 countries took part in Solidarity Day.
In France, Ticket Restaurant® has been involved in the “Solidarity Tickets” operation for seven years: in exchange for one ticket, four meals are distributed by the Red Cross. The principle behind the activities of the French Red Cross in its food aid plan is to provide personal help to people who need it and to help them to become independent as quickly as possible: to prevent, identify and protect people in difficulty, welcome them and advise them.
